Looking for the best NFC RFID reader/scanner for iPad? This video demonstrates using a 13.56MHz, high frequency RFID reader called the IDChamp and a WiSnap AAA WiFi Dongle from Serialio.com read/scan high frequencyRFID tags, also known as Near-Field-Communication (NFC) tags, into the iPad. The WiSnap has been connected to the same enterprise network that the iPad is, so all we have to do is launch the List-In-Hand® Mobile List app which gives us connectivity to the WiSnap, and the settings are done here to tell Mobile List the wifi RS-232 device connected it a WiSnap RS-232 to Wi-Fi converter with the IDChamp RFID reader on the other end. You simply hit connect and the WiSnap connects to the iPad. Now that the two are connected, the Mobile List app allows scanning information and posting directly a web page as if the data was typed by simply moving the NFC tag near the RFID reader. Simply hold the tag on the reader and you can get the RFID tag data read into the web page. But you don't want to use Restock.com you say, so you can use the Go to page feature and go to another website. When you're on the other website, the Mobile List app gives you the same functionality, you can simply scan and the information is put on the website. This video shows how the Grid-In-Hand(tm) Mobile Grid app on the iPad, can be used with the Scanfob GEN2 RFID reader to easily capture UHF RFID tags and email them as an Excel spreadsheet. The RFID reader is connected to the iPad via the BlueSnap (SPP-HID) Bridge. One side of the bridge is connected to the RFID reader (in Bluetooth SPP mode), the other side of the bridge is connected to the iPad (in Bluetooth HID-keyboard mode). The BlueSnap Bridge has a rechargeable battery, and is a convenient size so it can fit in most any pocket while in use. It only needs be within 30 feet of the iPad and the RFID reader. This system is fast, simple, and easy-to-use. Simply turn on the RFID reader and the bridge, and in a few seconds you will have the reader connected to the iPad. To read the tags, hold the reader near the tag, and press the read button, the tag value will be posted to the Mobile Grid, in this case the time of the scan also posted, there are options to collect other data as well. When all the tags are captured, tap the upload option. It's that easy to have a list of GEN2 tags emailed anywhere as an Excel file, CSV file, and even posted to a SQL database. The bench is situated in a shady spot under a large Torrey Pine tree along the nature trail/hiking path between I-5 and El Camino Real, in Solana Beach, California. Someone used spray paint to tag the bench sometime in late May or early June 2009. The tagger is presumably a resident of Eden Gardens, aka La Colonia, which is about six miles west of this location.
